Hello all!
Today is New Year's day and currently I'm sitting in bed. I recently
visited my aunt's farm, the stompingground of my mother. I wish to
tell you a little bit about it:
First of all, the farm is in a beautiful town about 30 minutes away
from my house. It is situated in a quiet corner of town along a gently
flowing river.
The harvest was in the fall. After the hay had dried on the fields and
was rolled into bails. Then, trucked to the barn in hope it would be
enough to keep the cows for the winter.
From the river comes Carolyn, a freespirited and crazy girl, riding
on a cow. She makes sure to avoid dad's sight, for HE would surely
have a calf HIMSELF if he knew of this. The trees were beginning to
reach that point where they can hold onto their leaves no more. The
leaves are hues of red, yellow, orange and brown. The girl dreams of
the winter when she'll be able to use her new pair of white skates,
just like they wear in the competitions. She hops off the old cow and
leads her into the barn quite innocently indeed. She finds her father
finishing the milking along with her two older sisters.
As one, they leave the barn and cross the street to find what mother
has been cooking. They find a lovely warm home with the smell of warm
stew. They sit down at the table and begin to eat, with fresh milk by
their sides.
