Hello all:)
I got back from Poland Thursday night, I just didn’t feel like posting anything until now:p Poland is kind of like Belgium: cold, rainy, “grey” lol. I liked the food, I only had Polish once so that’s probably why;)
I went to Krakow (which was fun) and Warsaw (which was ok;) I’m not going to describe everything I did, you can just follow the link and check out the pictures:p

The polish lesson
March 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment
So, as we heard in the last post, a Polish lesson was surely coming
And voilà, here it is
Now, this is just some essential basics. For everything else, just smile and nod
This is just from some stuff I hear around the house. I was also going to try to record the audio, but I don’t have quite enough time, so here you go
The written sounds
I hope you will be speaking Polish flawlessly after this intensive course in Polish.
For more advanced students, please contact me for things like, bread, chickens, how’s it hanging…. etc… You know, the more advanced stuff
This should be enough for now though
Let’s begin:
English Polish Sounds like:
How are you? Jak się masz? Yaak sha muush?
Good morning Dzień dobry Djen(nasal n) dough-bree
Hello, hi Cześć Kind of like: Scheshch
Good night Dobranoc (or just simply noc
) Dough-braa-nots (nots) as in the English word not
Thank you Dziękuję Djen(nasal and less apparent than before
) koo-je(as in dutch)
You’re welcome /Please Proszę Pro (long o) sha (that little tail thingy adds the nasal sound to vowels, kind of like in French like, faim or main.)
For those who may find them selves drinking in Poland
Cheers is – Na zdrowie! And sounds kind of like Naz-drow (like oww when you hurt yourself) –ia(ya) (accent falls on drow)
Now, GO OUT AND GET THEM!
Isn’t Polish just one of the easiest languages to learn? Heck, even babies do it!
Hope this helped to con… i mean clear up any confusion one may have had
Until next time!
Pat

Hello everyone (aka Zany;)
I went to the library at my school today, it was probably the second time in two years, lol. As you can see, it was deserted:) I thought there would at least be one kid researching the mating rituals of fruit flies or something… But I guess they would need fruit flies for that and you don’t usually find those in libraries;)
In other news: I’m going on a school trip to Poland, yay;)
I leave on Saturday and get back on Thursday. I’m sure I’ll enjoy myself, cheap wodka and everything;) Pat taught me some Polish, I just can’t remember any of it right now, lol
So a little “essential Polish” post would be nice:p
Anyway, I also liked these light cubes… so here they are;)
Until later
Tim
